Ventilation System Evaluation
Ventilation System Evaluation
Attic ventilation moves air through the roof assembly so heat and moisture do not build up against the deck and insulation. A ventilation system evaluation looks at how air currently enters and exits the attic space, whether intake and exhaust are balanced, and whether the existing vents are doing the job they were installed to do. Homeowners typically ask for this evaluation when they notice high attic temperatures, condensation, uneven shingle wear, or when a roof is due for new vents, insulation work, or an overlay.
What We Check
- Intake & Exhaust Balance — soffit, ridge and gable vents reviewed together, since one blocked side undoes the other.
- Hidden Moisture — handheld infrared cameras and moisture meters used from inside and out to find wet insulation or a wet deck before it shows on the surface.
- Aerial & Roof-Level Review — drones with thermal and high-resolution cameras used where a full-roof view helps confirm vent placement and condition.
Where This Leads
- Ridge, Soffit & Gable Vents — added, cleared or replaced where airflow is restricted.
- Powered & Solar Attic Fans — considered where passive ventilation alone is not enough.
- Attic Insulation & Air Sealing — addressed together with ventilation, since the two systems work as a pair.
Every finding is documented with time- and location-stamped photos, so you see the same attic and roof conditions we do.
