Roof Hatches, Walkways & Anchors

Roof hatches, walkway pads, and anchor points are the access features that let anyone reach a roof safely once it's built — for maintenance, inspections, or servicing rooftop equipment. They matter most on flat and low-slope commercial roofs, and on any building where crews need repeat access to units, vents, or drains without wearing through the membrane itself.

What This Work Covers

  • Roof Hatches — Access points built or flashed into the roof deck and membrane so the opening stays weathertight.
  • Walkway Pads — Protective surfacing set along the routes foot traffic actually takes, to keep wear off the membrane field.
  • Anchor Points — Fixed attachment points for fall protection equipment, installed to hold up under load.

How We Approach It

Fall protection is standard on our jobs. Our crews work off full-body harnesses, lanyards, and roof anchors, with roof jacks, toe boards, and planks for footing on steeper or exposed sections. On membrane roofs, walkway and hatch flashing is fastened and sealed using the same membrane fastening tools and stand-up screw guns used across the rest of the field, so the detail work matches the roof around it.

Where It Fits

  • Commercial & Multi-Family Roofs — Buildings with recurring rooftop access needs, covered under our commercial and property manager programs.
  • Documentation — Installation stages photographed and time-stamped so you can see the work as it happens.
