Drone & Infrared Moisture Scans
Drone & Infrared Moisture Scans
Water rarely stays where it enters a roof. It travels under membranes and shingles, soaks insulation, and shows up later as a stain or a soft spot far from the original leak. A drone and infrared moisture scan finds that trapped moisture and hidden damage before it spreads further, without walking the whole roof to do it.
How the Scan Works
- Aerial Thermal Imaging — Drones with thermal and high-resolution cameras capture the roof from above, flagging temperature differences that point to wet insulation or damaged areas.
- Handheld Infrared Follow-Up — Handheld infrared cameras scan from inside and out to trace leak paths and confirm what the aerial pass detected.
- Direct Moisture Verification — Moisture meters take direct readings across the surface, separating an actively wet deck from an old stain that is no longer a problem.
- Core Sampling — Where a reading needs confirming, a test cut shows exactly how many layers are up there and how much insulation is actually wet.
What You See
- Photo Documentation — Findings are recorded with time- and location-stamped photos, so what you see in the report matches what was found on the roof.
- Wood Moisture Checks — Where decking is exposed or accessible, wood moisture meters help confirm whether framing and decking need replacement or are still sound.
This service works well before a roof replacement, after a suspected leak, or whenever a clear picture of hidden moisture is needed before deciding on repairs.
