Attic Insulation & Air Sealing
Attic Insulation & Air Sealing
An attic that is under-insulated or leaking air makes the whole roof work harder than it should, driving up energy use and inviting moisture problems into the deck and framing above it. Attic insulation and air sealing addresses both sides of that problem: closing the gaps where conditioned air escapes and restoring insulation that has settled, compressed, or gotten wet over time.
Finding What's Actually Happening Up There
- Handheld Infrared Cameras — Thermal scanning from inside and out that reveals wet insulation and hidden leak paths in the roof assembly.
- Drones with Thermal & High-Res Cameras — Aerial thermal and high-resolution imaging that finds trapped moisture and damage without a single foot on your roof.
- Moisture Meters — Direct moisture readings across the roof surface that separate a wet deck from a stain left over from an old leak.
- Wood Moisture Meters — Decking and framing checked for moisture content so we replace what is rotten and keep what is sound.
Related Work We Handle
Insulation and air sealing usually go hand in hand with the rest of the attic system, so we also look at:
- Ventilation System Evaluation — Checking whether intake and exhaust airflow supports the insulation you have.
- Ridge, Soffit & Gable Vents — Passive ventilation paths that work with sealed, insulated attic space rather than against it.
- Powered & Solar Attic Fans — Added airflow where passive ventilation alone isn't enough.
